Reanimation

Touched down in LAX on Monday morning and it felt like I had not been in the USA for 10 years. I almost enjoyed the security checks. The American money looked ugly and the quarters small in my pocket. I ordered a sausage biscuit from McDonalds and it tasted like heaven. I stared at the pictures in Sports Illustrated like a child.

My parents met me at the Columbus airport. My relief to see them was so much that I was subdued. The talk immediately turned to sports - the Cincinnati Bengals revival tour and the Ohio State Buckeye malaise. The house was full with chatter and smiles. I immediately handed out all the presents I had purchased in PNG to my family members and then felt deflated because I had fired all my big guns and had nothing left in the tank.

Back at work. Pressed pants and the sounds of keyboards clicking. Time to wake up the ole brain and get cracking. I hate that I just wrote that.

I am not sure if anyone is still reading this thing but I figured over the next few weeks I will go back over my Sydney doings and perform a post-mortem. At least it will amuse me. And maybe I will be able to justify my despicable credit card bill that is laughing at me as we speak. Cruel plastic.
